A large city in the state of Washington in the western United States situated beside the Puget Sound near the border with British Columbia. Home to University of Washington the [Space Needle]? and Microsoft. In sports it is the home to the Seahawks, Sonics? and Mariners. Until 2001, Seattle was also home to Boeing. Following a bidding war in which several cities offered huge tax breaks, Chicago became the new home of Boeing. The Seattle area is still home to several Boeing plants, but each month brings new notices of layoffs and closures.
