A large city in the state of
Washington in the western
United States, situated beside the
Puget Sound, near the border with
British Columbia. Home to the
University of Washington, the [Space Needle]

Microsoft. In sports it is the home to the
Seahawks, Sonics
? and
Mariners. Until 2001, Seattle was also home to
Boeing. Following a bidding war in which several cities offered huge tax breaks,
Chicago became the new home of Boeing. The Seattle area is still home to several Boeing plants, but each month brings new notices of layoffs and closures.
Seattle is sometimes referred to as the rainy city. Although it gets less rain than many other US cities, Seattle has more cloudy and rainy days, with few heavy downpours.
