Leo

Leo refers to one of the constellations of the zodiac, the lion. It lies between dim Cancer to the west and the Virgo to the east. ]]. In Greek mythology, this corresponds with the lion which was killed by Hercules during one of his quests.

This constellation contains many bright stars such as Regulus(alpha), Denebola(beta)an Algieba(gamma 1). Many other fainter stars have been named has well like Zosma(delta), Ras Elased Australis(epsilon), Adhafera(zeta), Chort(theta), Al Minliar al Asad(kappa), Alterf(lambda), Ras Elased Borealis(mu) and Subra(omicron).

Leo also contains many bright galaxies of which the twins M65, M66 and M95, M96 are the most famous.

In some cosmologies, Leo is associated with the Classical Element Fire, and thus called a Fire Sign (with Aries and Saggittaurius).
