Mike, why did you make all those terms subpages of "Film editing"? What other kind of "establishing shot" have you heard of? What other kind of "Star wipe"? What other kind of "hairy arm" deserves an encyclopedia entry? Assuming that all of those are potentially ambiguous terms, which they're not, and furthermore assuming that each sense of each of those potentially ambiguous terms deserves an entry, which they wouldn't, and furthermore assuming that each entry should be made a subpage of something--why make them a subpage of "film editing"? Star wipes are a postproduction effect; why not make them a subpage of "computer generated imaging"? Talking heads are common in political discussion; why not make them a subpage of "punditry" or "cinematic cliches"? Crosscutting is a part of film grammar, why not make it a subpage of that? I'm not sure I understand. --KQ
: OK, I was probably wrong in making the changes for the links to film editing and making them subpages. As they were written, they just talked about different aspects of film editing, and as such did not need to be broken out seperately. If you think there is a need for them to be seperate, then I will put them all back the way they were, but I really thought that they should not have been pages at all, but part of a larger film editing page that needs to be written.
:About the other subjects you mention: I see the term talking heads as part of several different things, as the article states. As such, it should stand alone. Perhaps the film editing page should be renamed to [visual post production]?, which would encompas the entire subject in its many facets.
