Programming language announced by Microsoft for release in early 2002 as part of .NET. The syntax of the language is very close to Java.
C# (pronounced see sharp) is an Object-oriented programming language developed by Microsoft Corporation as part of their .NET initiative.

Microsoft designed C# in the tradition of C++ and the Java programming language.

Microsoft has submitted C# to the ECMA? for formal standardization.
However, many computer professionals believe that Microsoft will, sooner or later, embrace, extend and extinguish the standard as they have done with other standards before.
