Boston Molasses Disaster occurred in the [North End Park]

Boston on January 15
1919. A molasses tank, (containing 1.5 million gallons of molasses), exploded as a consequence of fermentation in the tank and an increase in temperature. As a consequence of the explosion 21 people were killed.
