Taking Children Seriously is an educational philosophy which has close ties to the philosophy of Karl Popper.

TCS posits that children should be brought up entirely without coercion (i.e. without doing things to them against their will, or making them do things against their will), in a way that is more similar to how adults are educated.

Children of TCS parents choose whether or not to go to school. Often they homeschool or unschool.

The originators of TCS are David Deutsch, Kolya Wolf and Sarah Lawrence. The latter administers a paper journal, a mailing list and a [website] devoted to explaining the ideas.
