Coercion

1. Used in relation to political theory, coercion means the use force or the threat of force to dictate the actions of a [sentient being]?. In centuries past, the philosophy of anarchy concerned itself with states using laws to coerce thier populations. In the modern era, this has been supplemented by a concern for the growing power of other entities, such as corporations? which may exert coercive force through control over scarce resources, such as food, water, housing, and others which inviduals would consider essential to maintaining thier lives, as in the concept of the [hydraulic economy]?.
