Showing revision 3
Held in 1945 at the end of the Second World War, the Potsdam Conference was the venue for negotiations between the USA, the USSR, Britain and France. One of the primary results of this conference was the redrawing of European boundaries and the formation of the Eastern bloc. As happened many times over the course of human history, and perhaps especially since the Peace of Westphalia, many non-combatants suffered as a result.

As citizens were forced or chose to leave their homes in response to the wishes of the new goverments, family members were often separated from each other. This was especially true at the end of World War II, when Europe saw refugees from almost every European country trying to make their ways home.
