I'm sorry this is dictionary like, I was just worried that someone would forget some of the other meanings. I can't see that any of these definitions take precedence over any other.

  1. a piece of fabric

  1. the name of an IBM utility to edit binary files (typically on mainframe installations, eg MVS but I wouldn't be surprised if OS/2 and AIX had a version).

  1. the name of a UNIX utility (written by Larry Wall) to cleverly apply a set of diff?s to a set of files, effectively allowing somebody else changes to be applied to your version of the source code.

  1. a set of diffs suitable for input to the patch program.

  1. a 3d bezier? surface thing used in computer graphics. A primitive in some 3d software packages.
