Neil Kinnock, former leader of the British Labour Party. Nicknamed by [Private Eye magazine]? "the Welsh Windbag", he had the thankless task of leading the party, during labour's "unelectable" period, and was thanked for losing a general election by being replaced by Tony Blair.

He is now vice-president of the European commission, a position that does not require the inconvenience of election by a vote of the people.
