Green

Green is the colour seen commonly in nature. Many plants are green because they contain chlorophyll. In English, there is a distinction made between blue and green, but some languages don't have a separate word for green.

Green light has a wavelength of around 550 nm.

• Greenpeace, an ecological group, uses green because of its association with life.
  
• Envy?, one of the traditional Seven Deadly Sins is also called the Green-eyed monster.
  
• Traditionally, someone who works well with plants is said to have a green thumb, or green fingers.
• There is a political party named the Greens which has some influence in European elections.
