Fitzgerald was the author of [The Great Gatsby]? as well as other novels and short stories. He is considered by many to be one of the foremost American fiction writers during the [Jazz Age]?. His wife, [Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald]?, was also a writer.
His latter years were beset with financial worries, and his wife's increasing insanity. He died in Hollywood in 1940 whilst working as a screenwriter, a profession he hated.
