Asterisms are patterns of stars seen in Earth's sky which are not official
constellations. Examples include the
Big and
Little Dippers and the Teapot in
Sagittarius. One ancient asterism, [Coma Berenices]
?, had its status upgraded to constellation when things were finalized.
