Analog Science Fiction, formerly known as Astounding Science Fiction, is a science fiction magazine that at various times in its history has been the premier venue for written science fiction, notably in the 1930s and 1940s under the editorship of John W. Campbell and in the 1970s under [Ben Bova]?.

Campbell changed the name in 1960 from Astounding, which he considered too juvenile for the type of magazine he was publishing.
