Aldous Huxley (1884-1963)

Biography

Born in the United Kingdom on 26 July 1894, died in California on 22 November 1963. He began writing in his early twenties. He wrote great novels on dehumanising aspects of scientific progress ([Brave New World]?), and also pacifist novels ([Eyeless in Gaza]?). After leaving Europe for California in 1937, his works were dominated by mysticism and hallucinogenic drugs.
