Trials is a very fun and challenging sport on a unicycle. What is Trials Unicycling, you ask? Well if you have seen what trials biking is, then you kind of have the premise. Trials is pretty much, hopping up, on, and over obstacles such as logs, rocks, and many man-made objects. This can be done by anybody who has a unicycle, although 20 inch wheels are the best. Trials unicycles can vary in price from $130 CAN. to about $700 CAN. You can see some trials and MUni being done at:

Also known as Muni, Mountain Unicycling is a form of unicycling where the unicycles are equipped with fat tyres and rugged frames for off-road cycling. Mountain-unicycles can be ridden on the same terrain as a [mountain bike]?. The mountain-unicycle, or Muni as it is also known, uses a 26" or 24" mountain bike wheel, and may also have brakes and suspension to improve their off-road capability. Unlike their two-wheeled counterpart, the mountain-unicycle has a single gear (that is, fixed wheel) and riders vary their speed by changing their pedalling cadence. To go up steep inclines, riders often hop sideways up the hill. On descents, some riders freewheel their unicycle by using their feet as brakes on the tyre, also known as 'gliding'.

Today there are hundreds of mountain-unicyclists riding all kinds of terrain across the world.
