The Jewish Defense League is an extremist Jewish organization founded by Meir Kahane, with links to terrorist activity. Its chairman, Irv Rubin, 56, and another member have been arrested (reported on December 12, 2001) on suspicion of plotting to bomb a Los Angeles mosque and the office of an Arab-American member of the US Congress.
