Whilst it is full-featured and powerful, the program is unpopular with some IRC users who find its propensity to add profanity to automatically-generated channel messages sent out to other users rude and unnecessary. Others, particularly the teengers who make up a significant fraction of the IRC-using community, probably regard this as a desirable feature.
