Green

Green is the colour seen commonly in nature. Many plants are green because they contain chlorophyll. In English, there is a distinction made between blue and green, but some languages don't have a separate word for green.

"Green" as a political and philosophical movement

The [ecology movement]? uses green because of its common occurrence in nature. Greenpeace, an ecological group, uses green because of its association with life. There are political parties named the Greens throughout the world, particularly in Europe.

Colloquial expressions

• Envy?, one of the traditional Seven Deadly Sins is also called the Green-eyed monster.
  

• Traditionally, someone who works well with plants is said to have a green thumb, or green fingers.
