Difference (from revision 5 to revision 5) (minor diff, author diff)
(The revisions are identical or unavailable.)
One of my friends is an "authority" on real ale. I'll mail him and see if he can help us out with this one (between visits to the pub :-) ) sjc

The site lists different things the group is about. I'm still not sure what they mean by "real ale"--as compared to what?

The major distinction is between how the beer is stored and served. The major breweries have a vested interest in promoting "keg" beer which is pressurised whereas CAMRA are advocates for "cask" beer which is the traditional unpressurised method of dispensation. There is a world of difference in the taste - cask is much more pleasant. sjc

So they're not about also brewing "real" ale from malted barley (vs. other grains?)
