Ash is the name of the ligature æ (uppercase Æ), found in the Anglo-Saxon, Icelandic, Danish, and Norwegian alphabets. It is also a character in the International Phonetic Alphabet.

It frequently represents an non-rounded, semi-open front vowel, similar to "short a" sound of "cat" in many dialects of English.
