Syd Barrett

Syd Barret was one of the founding members of the 1960's psychedelic rock group Pink Floyd. He remained a member for only a short period, and is remembered principally for his contribution to the band's first album, "Piper at the Gates of Dawn", and the hit single See Emily Play. Following a serious crack-up, probably predicated by the consumption of LSD and/or other psychedelic drugs, Syd increasingly withdrew from the world of music, releasing a couple of idiosyncratic solo albums "The Madcap Laughs" and "Barrett" en route.
