Jeffrey Howard Archer

Lord Jeffery Howard Archer was born on April 15 1940 in the City of London maternity hospital. He is the successful author of a number of popular novels of little literary merit, convicted perjurer and former Chairman of the Conservative Party and MP?.

On July 19 2001 Jeffery Archer was found guilty of perjury and [perverting the course of justice]?. This was in relation to a 1987 libel case in which he was awarded £500,000 damages from the [Daily Star]? when they alleged, with good reason, as events were subsequently to transpire, that he had slept with a prostitute, [Monica Coughlan]?. He was sentenced to a total of 4 years imprisonment.
