uhh - DUKE of York? I thought the Duke of York was a Jacobite title? I know that he ended up with a Hanoverian pension after the French Revolution.... --MichaelTinkler
And so it is. My sources didn't say where the title came from, so I've assumed it came with the life-annuity from George III. However, I found another one calling him "styled Duke of York" and that's a dead giveaway. Thanks for the heads-up -- PaulDrye
Yep, majoritarian historians are *so* transparent. , *I* would call him the Duke of York, but then we all have our little legitimist quirks. --MichaelTinkler.
