[Home]Is Wiki Really Anarchic

HomePage | Recent Changes | Preferences

The WikiPedia is not, and can never be, anarchic. Its host has sole control.

Wikipedia's host, however, has graciously consented to receive contributions from all and sundry, including edits and deletions.

Although I've only participated for a couple of days, I perceive that there are indeed rules -- even sacred cows.

How can one make and sustain a benevolent anarchy? Ah, that is another question.

Ed, commentary goes in meta-wikipedia - [[1]]
I wonder if the poster of this comment intended the irony... :) --STG

There is indeed a "sacred cow". We call it Neutral point of view. We are building an Encyclopedia here. --Dmerrill

That's a funny name for a cow :-)
