Centromere

The centromere is a region of a chromosome that connects the two sister chromatid?s, and where the [spindle fiber]?s attach during mitosis.

Centromeric DNA is non-coding, highly repetitive DNA found in the centromer region. Supposedly, it serves structural purposes.
