Basil is a tender

? basil. Other varieties include Purple Ruffles, Mammoth, Cinnamon, Lemon, Globe, and African Blue. The original variety from India, Holy Basil, is camphoric and rarely used in the kitchen. Basil is very sensitive to cold.
