Antonine Wall begun circa 140 AD during reign of
Antoninus Pius. Stretching 37 miles from the Firth of Clyde to the Firth of Forth in
Scotland and the northern border of Roman Britain. Intended to supersede
Hadrian's Wall, it was overrun in 181 AD.
