Changed: 1c1
From the 14th century, Mecklenburg was a duchy within the Holy Roman Empire. It was divided in the 17th century. The two duchies existed separately as states of German Empire and later, the Weimar Republic, until they were united in 1934. After the Second World War, Mecklenburg was alloted to the Eastern bloc; however, after the Reunification of Germany, it was combined with the region of Vor-Pommern to make up the state (Bundesland) of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
