The football club has been formed in 1897. It's home is the Ashton Gate Stadium. The side joined the English football league in 1901. They are the only Bristolian? side that palyed in the F.A. cup finals in 1909, losing 1:0 to Manchester United F.C. at Crystal Palace in London.
