Troll

A fictitious monster of [folk legend]?, as in "The Three Billy Goats Gruff," the well-known folk tale in which a troll living under a bridge torments some billy goats that want to cross.

Another sense of the word trolling (also spelled trawling) is the practice of fishing? by drawing a baited line or lure behind a boat.

There are also Internet trolls. In the case of these trolls, it is still applicable the warning "Don't feed the trolls, that will only encourage them" - ie. do not respond to them, that is the attention they are desiring.
