Showing revision 3
A hybrid of swimming, gymnastics, and ballet, synchronized swimming involves competitors (either individually or in teams) performing aesthetically pleasing and difficult movements while in water.

Synchronised swimming is an Olympic sport, but is not particularly well regarded by many fans of more traditional sports. They see little aesthetic merit in the performances and are dubious about a sport judged by what are, in their minds, highly subjective criteria. Competitors reply by pointing to the strength, flexibility, and endurance required to perform difficult routines.
