A musical instrument considered of both [reed instrument]? family and the [brass instrument]? family.

It is considered of both, because it is made of brass, but as the clarinet, bassoon, and oboe, it depends on a reed to be able to play.

This instrument was created in the mid 1800s by Adolphe Sax.

It has different modalities. Soprano, alto, tenor, and bass are the most common, however, there are at least 16 different types of saxophone.

This instrument is used in marching bands, philarmonic orchestras, jazz bands, and blues, among others.
