Saladin (1137-1193) (in full Salah Ad-din Yusuf Ibn Ayyub) was the founder of the [Ayyubid Dynasty]?.

Having his initial military education under the command of a Seljuk statesman and soldier, he had his first achievements by defending Egypt against Crusaders and abolishing the [Fatimid caliphate]?. His fame reached to its zenith, when he recaptured Jerusalem on October 1187 after 88 years of the Crusader rule and successfully defended the city against the Third Crusade.
