Punjab is a state in northwest
India. Neighbouring regions are
Pakistan to the west, [Jammu and Kashmir]
? to the north,
Himachal Pradesh to the northeast,
Haryana to the south and southeast and
Rajasthan to the southwest.
The state capital is Chandigarh?. The name Punjab is apparently derived from the names of five rivers, including the Ghaggar River.
There is also a region named Punjab in Pakistan.
