Irgun

Irgun (shorthand for Irgun Tsvai-Leumi, a military national organizaion) was a Jewish group that the British regarded as terorist, that was based in the British Mandate of Palestine, prior to the founding of the State of Israel. Later on, the Irgun was merged into the Israeli Defence Force. At one time it was lead by Menachem Begin, who later became Prime Minister of Israel.

Irgun Zvai Leumi was a Jewish terorist group based in the British Mandate of Palestine, prior to the founding of the State of Israel. It was founded in Jerusalem in 1931 by Avraham Tehomi, to levy war against the British and Arabs. In 1943 Menachem Begin, who later became Prime Minister of Israel, became its leader.
