Insurance: The practice of gambling on human life and suffering. Based on the human fear of the unknown, insurance provides sigificant income to the medical, legal, and mortuary professions. Subdivided into categories including Life Insurance (which pays out only on death), Medical Insurance (which pays unless you are really, really, sick), Auto Insurance (which pays slightly less than your deductible), and Unemployment Insurance (which goes without saying).
