The
ISO standard 9660 defines a
file system for
CDROMs.
It aims at supporting different computer
operating systems:
Windows,
Mac OS and
Unix, so that data may be exchanged.
There are different levels this standard. The first level restricts file names to 8 characters with a 3 character extension.
