Humphrey Davy was English chemist, born in Penzance, Cornwall, England in December 17th 1778, and died in Geneva, on May 29th 1829.

Davy became known due to his experiences of the physiological action of some gases. In 1801 was nominated professor at the Royal Institute and member of the Royal Society that he would later preside. Davy accomplished several discoveries in the field of electrochemistry.

Discovered the metalic element Aluminium

Some instruments have his name, like the Davy's lamp used by miners.
