Helen Keller

Born on 27 June 1880 in Alabama, Helen was struck with a fever and became both deaf and blind. She learned to speak by the Tadoma method, touching the lips of others as they spoke and feeling the vibrations, and went on to become a world famous speaker and author. She died in 1968.
