Generalissimo Francisco Franco ([El Ferrol 1892-12-04]? - [Madrid 1975-11-20]?) was the fascist ruler of Spain from 1936 until his death in 1975.
He took control of the government in a military uprising in 1936, which precipitated the Spanish Civil War. He was succeeded by his designated successor, [Juan Carlos I]?.
