Ernest Rutherford

The "father" of nuclear physics, Rutherford (1871-1937) pioneered the orbital theory of the atom notably in his discovery of rutherford scattering.

Rutherford studied and graduated at Canterbury College, now the University of Canterbury, and a recreation of his laboratory there can be seen at the [Arts Centre]? in Christchurch, New Zealand.
