This article seems to contradict itself. First it says that, under the nominative-ergative grammar system, the subject of a transitive verb is nominative, then in the next paragraph, it says that the subject of a transitive verb is ergative. I would change it only I don't know which statement is correct. Perhaps both are under appropriate circumstances. Does anyone know? -- Derek Ross
