The epipalaeolithic or epi-palaeolithic is a period in the development of human culture in which relatively advanced small bladed devices were constructed out of stone?, known as microliths.

The epipalaeolithic is perhaps only used by archaeologists working in particular regions and preceeds the neolithic period. i.e., either replacing or a subdivision of the traditional mesolithic and/or late paleolithic periods.
