Chemical reactions are changes in the structure of molecules. Such reactions can result in molecules attaching to each other, forming larger molecule or they may involve the opposite process, a molecule breaking apart, forming two or more, smaller molecules.

A chemical reaction do not alter the nucleus of the atom in any way, but the interaction of the electron clouds of the involved atoms. Such changes are called chemical reactions.

Changes in the composition of the nuclei of atoms are called [nuclear reaction]?s, and are NOT considered chemical reactions.
