Burhanuddin Rabbani

Burhanuddin Rabbani is the political leader of the Northern Alliance of Afghanistan. Between 1992 and 1996, when Kabul was occupied by the Taliban, he was president of the Islamic Council of Afghanistan. He is still recognised as president of the country by the UN and some other countries.
