Singer, her full name is Björk Gudmundsdottir, although you won't see that much nowadays, originally from Iceland, she now lives extensively in Manhattan.

Björk's first recording was an album of classic Icelandic? songs at the age of 11.

She was part of the Bad Taste group that produced art, poems, performances and music. A number of the group went on to form [The Sugarcubes]?, often namechecked as being one of the best Euro pop groups.

The Sugarcubes did many collaborations with DJs and other musicians who would remix their work, something that has been seen to great effect in Bjork's later work.

After The Sugarcubes split in the early 1990s, Bjork launched her new solo career, something that is as strong and vibrant as it was with /Debut? album.

Since then she has produced an even greater range of diverse music, taking in the simple pop aesthetics of /Debut?, to the Jazz musings on [Gling Glo]? to the divine beats and loops on two remix albums, /Telegram? and the uniquely named The best mixes from the album debut for all the people who don't buy white-labels album.

In the year 2000 she received critical acclaim for her portrayal of a blind woman in the Lars von Trier film, [Dancer in the Dark]? and her exceptional sound track album, /SelmaSongs? set new standards for film music.

2001 sees no slow down, with a new album due later this year, along with yet more music videos from the likes of Chris Cunningham ([/All is full of love]?), and possibly (please oh please!) another team up with Spike Jonze ([It's Oh So Quiet]?)
