Archipelago

Geographic term used to describe a cluster of islands. They are usually surrounded by open sea, less commonly there is a large land mass next to them.

Examples of archipelagos include:

• Hawaiian islands
• Insulinde? (Indonesia)
• Japan
• Juan Fernandez
• Philippines
