Since nobody will ever search on 'Albert Arnold Gore' but lots of people will search on Al Gore, shouldn't this page be at Al Gore, with a redirect here, and not the other way around?

Naming conventions. There you will see arguments in favor of using common names like
Al Gore rather than formal names like
Albert Arnold Gore. The best argument wins.
